SSR International Tools
The Classic SSR Assessment tool evaluates business performance across 8 categories and 224 parameters, which are based on the requirements of leading SSR codes and standards such as ISO 26000, the Global Reporting Initiative (G4), UN Global Compact and Business in the Community (BITC) Corporate Responsibility Index. The tool uses online software to allow companies to self-evaluate and determine its level of compliance these SSR standards requirements. The format is a remote, online assessment completed by multiple company representatives and/or stakeholders, with a report of findings from SSR International. Consultants can also be trained and licensed to use the tool.
The Advanced SSR Assessment tool evaluates business performance against the benchmark of Transformative SSR, developed by Prof. Wayne Visser. This includes a 70-question self-assessment tool, which measures progress in terms of SSR stages of maturity (defensive, philanthropic, promotional, strategic and transformative), DNA elements (value creation, good governance, societal contribution, environmental integrity) and transformative principles (creativity, scalability, responsiveness, glocality, circularity). The format is an in-situ, online assessment in a live workshop facilitated by an SSR International consultant, with a report of findings. Consultants can also be trained and licensed to use the tool.
The Stakeholder SSR Dialogue uses the HexagonTool®, which is based on an award-winning model of stakeholder engagement developed by Roberto Salazar, based on public choice theory and game theory. The interactive, online tool, which is administered in a workshop forum (with more than 1,000 sessions run around the world), allows constructive, consensus-making dialogue across the 6 key stakeholder sectors: 1) government, 2) business, 3) civil society, 4) communities, 5) international organizations and 6) media. Using a democratic blind scoring methodology, the tool ensures no single stakeholder or representative has undue influence over prioritized issues and actions. Consultants can also be trained and licensed to use the tool.
The S2M Certification is programme of corporate improvement, verification and recognition, which has three components: Sustainability, Measurement and Mediation (hence, S2M). The Sustainability component uses the Classic SSR Assessment and an 80% score is required for certification. The Measurement component uses the EvalHexa® Tool to assess the socio-economic impact of two SSR projects (one internal and one external). The Mediation component uses the Stakeholder SSR Dialogue HexagonTool® to formulate project priorities and assess SSR progress. Initial certification normally takes 1-2 years and results in a public S2M Certification Achievement Award, with biennual recertification (every two years).
